New Litters plus Updated Photos!

These are updated pictures of the little bunny that was in my last post. This past week we found out that this bunny (that we thought was a buck) is a doe. We would have kept her either way, but were happy to hear that news (it can be very hard to sex them at a young age).

Last Sunday we had three litters born and what a day it was! I will post more pictures as they grow. Also, if you are looking to add some German Angoras to your herd, email us to see what is available.

Update on Millennial Way Farm!

This is an update on our farm. Since the last time we posted (about 1 year ago) we had rare breed sheep and alpacas. We decided to sell the Jacob flock and Alpacas, as we had many great farms wanting to add them to their flocks. We were very blessed to find such great homes!

Last year at SAFF (Southern Animal Fiber Fair) we sold our German Hybrids and decided to only raise Full Germans due to the higher fiber amounts each shearing. The full Germans produce about 12-16 oz of wool each shearing (with some exceptions), whereas the Hybrids produced around 4-8 oz (quite a difference!). Although, we do miss looking at their pretty colored faces, we are grateful we made the change. We currently are raising 100% German Angora Rabbits (REW), and have some litters due in two weeks.

Jacob Sheep and Angora Rabbits

By the end of January, several new litters of Angora bunnies should be kindled. These will include some fun and exciting new colors. These first Spring additions will include Harlequin, Tri, Reds, Martens and Broken Pattern.

With our focus now only on the Jacob breed of sheep, lambing season should be an exciting time. Our flock includes 20+ (with 17 ewes) bred to several different rams. Both 2 horn and 4 horn, black and lilac, maybe even some blue eyed lambs are expected.

Our fiber is back from the mill, we were so excited to see the runs of Jacob/Alpaca/Angora. Roving is available!!!!

Shearing will be scheduled early this year, so reserve your fleeces.
